Issues That A Marketing Presenter May Talk About
by
Dirik Hameed
A marketing speaker will have a plethora of material to choose from when speaking on the subject. With the ever growing popularity of the internet, many topics covered include this as an outlet for portraying a companies message.
The first area is relatively new but very popular. It is social media. Companies are finding it important to have an online presence in social media in order to engage with their market. Social media is all about two way communication and is a great way for companies to find out what their customers are saying about them and to respond. This gives a personality to a brand and is a great way to find out what people like and what people don't like about a product or a service.
Search engine marketing, abbreviated as SEM, is the name for advertisements that are placed on search engines like Google or Bing. It is a very inexpensive way for a company to gain brand recognition and to gain more visitors to their website. Marketing speakers like talking about this as it can be one of the most cost effective methods of getting your name out there. There are two main types of SEM. The cost per click model has advertisers pay for an ad only when a web user clicks on the ad. This can be as cheap as pennies. The cost depends on factors such as the targeted region and the amount of competition that exists for keywords chosen. The second type is CPM which is based on a cost per thousand exposures.
Search engine optimization (SEM) is another area that may be covered. It is a method of designing your website so that it will show up in the top results of an organic web search. This means that when someone searches Google or another engine, the website will show up in their search results close to the top of the first page without having to pay for exposure. Some ways to do so are to use certain key words to improve your relevance rating or to be linked to from other websites.
A company's web design itself may be another topic of speaking. The marketer may talk about how this site should be the hub of a company's communication effort and not read like a print brochure. It is important for companies to offer something on their website that the consumer who does not want to buy something immediately can find useful.
Word of mouth (WOM) is another popular topic to speak on. It is said that WOM is one of the most powerful ways information about your business is spread. The internet makes it easy for people to spread the word of what a company is doing and so this topic will likely be tied into one of the previously mentioned topics on online marketing.
There are many other topics that can be covered. These include the traditional methods of marketing that are still valid such as television and radio advertising and the many methods of print advertising. Newspapers and magazines for example, are still distributed widely to niche markets that may be of value to your brand.
Marketing is more than just advertising. There are many other topics marketing speakers may cover. Most of the time it depends on the venue and the reason the speech is being made. It would take years to speak and listen to them all as it is ever evolving.
