Learning how to optimize your page is one of the good way to generate traffic as there are a lot of people using search engines to find solutions. Inside my article,I will be talking ways on how to improve your search engine ranking. Also,I will be touching more on about the tags that is inside your web page source that you can optimize it to get better rankings in search engines. Lastly,I will be touching on the two types of seo that you will need to know in order to optimize your page.

Search Engine Optimization Basics

The definition of search engine optimization which is known as SEO has a meaning of getting an increase in search engine ranking.

The term of SEO describes the level of activity that will increase the amount of right audiences to get to your webpage by using search engines.

How do search engines rank your page?

1)Web crawling

2)Indexing

3)Searching

It is done by automated scripter known as spiders and it retrieves information from the html coding for the webpage and visit links on that site.

Although images name are not really mainly used for SEO,Spiders still index images so it is beneficial to name the images to the relevant keywords.this will improve your image search and thus bring traffic.

Most of the people are using google to search for the solutions and google do not want selling,selling,selling!!They want quality content.

Google is a computer algorithm,a program which has a formula of analyzing webpages and determine the value and relevance through link-crawling.

There are two types of SEO.

1)On page SEO - What can be done on your webpage to improve your search engine ranking.

Meta tags

A meta tag is a tag in HTML that describes the contents of a webpage.The information you provide for the meta tags is used by search engines to index the page.

Meta tags contains right at the top of the web page source code as a part of the title and the title should be your main keyword.

First of all for SEO page analysis is to name the URL that contains your keyword.

In order to view the tags,you will have to see the source code by right clicking your webpage and click view source.

The description tags shows just right below the title and should include your main keyword.

Then the keywords tag which is just below the description tags should have your main keyword first followed by secondary keywords.

There are several kinds of meta tags, but the most important for search engine indexing are the keywords meta tag and the description meta tag

Remember that the meta tags should contain your exact keywords,whereas having keywords in your content is not really necessary but it is beneficial to your web page.

Finally,the search engines will look at your content and ideally,it should contain the keywords during the first two paragraphs.Posting quality content is still much more important than containing the keywords.

Be careful of over optimizing your web page by stuffing over-excess of keywords which will make it even worse and google will definitely give you a lousier ranking.

2)Off page SEO - Combination of things that will help you to improve in search engines ranking without considering the factors on the website.

In order to find quality links,you have to check that the page is linking to any low quality site?Does this site has a lot of links?
Post a blog or articles to directories
Link Anchor Text
Link anchor text (signature file) in forums - Hight-lighted words that will link you to another website.

Facebook - It is a leading social networking website with lots of marketers using that to generate traffic.You can easily post links on your page to keep your fans updated.

The site with the most and best links pointing to your website using the proper keyword anchor text will stand the best chance of ranking for that keyword.
