Effective Video Marketing Tips

Do you have what it takes to make effective videos for your marketing campaign? You don't have to have extraordinary talents to create your own videos. Try some of these tips for really effective results.

1. The first thing you have to do is to give video marketing a try. A lot of people are hesitant to take this initial step because they don't really feel comfortable in front of a camera, or seeing themselves on video. Set aside your shyness and self-consciousness for little while and try it out. Speak on a topic you care about and which you feel would be helpful to other people. You'll find out that the video won't be half as bad as you imagined. Other people won't mind at all if you make slight mistakes. People tend to respond warmly to videos of real people.

2. Look for enthusiastic people within your company, and make them your video spokespersons. Capturing their naturally lively personality on camera might just be the boost your marketing campaign needs.

3. Make short videos of just one to three minutes duration for starters. You will find out that when you do this regularly, you will start to feel comfortable with the camera, and later on have enough confidence for longer-duration videos. Practice does make perfect.

4. Make your video more inclusive. Have some guest interviews. Include some greetings to people you know. Let them know that you included them in your video. Without you asking them to share your video, chances are they will share it with other people.

5. Make the video a collaborative project. You can expect that everyone who participates in making the video would be motivated to promote the video themselves among their circle of acquaintances.

6. Look for experts whom you can interview at trade shows. Creating a video based on your interview provides substantial content. If the expert links back to your video posting of the interview, then his or her followers would most likely visit your site as well.

7. Create an informative how-to video that you can upload on YouTube and post it on your website as well. A lot of people access these video tutorials. You can use downloadable free tools for creating this type of videos.

8. To make videos more engaging, include some music, an interview portion, and some clips on scenes before, during, and after the focal piece of the video. This is especially effective if you are covering a live event on video.

9. Make sure your video is audible. Check the capability of your camera's built-in microphone to capture your voice. Generally, you have to be within three feet of the camera to have satisfactory results. Your message has to be heard, otherwise, it would just be a wasted opportunity.

10. Monitor the response to your video posting, and use viewers' comments and ideas to improve on your next video. Reply to posted comments and encourage discussions about your products and your business. Keep track of statistics on users who accessed the link to your website from your video postings. This will give you an honest assessment of the effectiveness of your video marketing campaign.
