Quick Tips On Working With Online Virtual Assistant

Out sourcing ledger. I recently had a $1000 loss in my business and I used this mental ledger which I have when I do outsourcing or out tasking with an online virtual assistant in particular. I wanted to out task a job of wring an e book, paid my out tasker upfront and then heard nothing more from him. Okay, I wanted this website done. If I didn't out task it, I'd use someone locally, I didn't go overseas and use geo arbitrage, I'd choose someone locally, it would cost me $500, $1000.

That e book that I was going to have written that cost me $1000 on oDesk probably would have cost me about $5000 locally. I have some ghost writers do my serious books and things like that and $5000 for the size of that book. So $5000 is what I was going to spend over here. Over time I might have had another website designed. That $200 website I got done recently probably would have cost me $1500 here. So I now would have spent $6,500 for that websites for virtual assistant companies and that e- book. Over time you work out what I would have spent to get this work done.

Hypothetically over six months I probably would have out tasked in Australian dollars what would have equated to $20,000 worth of work. I have spent out tasking let's say $4,500. So even with that $1000 loss, I'm still ahead $15,000. So that's the outsourcing ledger that I have in my mind to say, look, I'm going to get burned every now and again, but over the long haul I'm going to be ahead about $15,000.

It's the same justification my girlfriend has when she goes on eBay. She might get done over every now and again by ordering something on eBay that doesn't turn out to be genuine, but at the end of the day if she bought those dresses and those shoes and those handbags she would have spent $100,000, but she only spent $5000 hypothetically.

There's that internal ledger that you can justify to yourself as a business that my business is ahead $15,000. I got the exact results I want but I'm $15,000 ahead even if I'm losing $1000 here and there, I'm still ahead in the business. It's just a cost of doing geo arbitrage out tasking with an online virtual assistant. That's something just to keep in the back of your mind how to ledger that off.

With outsourcing when I have a good contractor I pay with bonuses, so that shows on my feedback. You might wonder if that is working outside the system a little bit? Am I still getting protection with those additional jobs by paying bonuses?

I'll go through the process when I start working with an online virtual assistant. What will happen, I'll use Rent A Coder for the first few times and you do everything straight through Rent A Coder, or vWorker but then I tell them I'll pay them as bonuses and we can both share in the savings. If you do it as a bonus, Rent A Coder takes a little bit less of a fee. So there is a bit of a process you have to go through. I'd do at least five jobs with them on vWorker first, build up that confidence and then once you start to get confident and they're delivering, then you start to shift things off. If things go pear shaped then you shift them back or you cut them loose.
