Every business owner works hard to increase traffic to their website and also the Alexa Ranking. But why are business owners always talking about backlinks? Business owners are always talking about getting backlinks because backlinks help increase traffic to their websites.Yes, it is just really that simple. Of course, the more traffic a website has, the more profit a business will see.
Also, backlinks also help the search engines rate the importance of their sites. That means that the more relevant backlinks a particular website has, then the higher the ranking. Just as more traffic helps increase profits, so does a higher Alexa ranking. In a nutshell, backlinks not only help increase traffic to a website, but backlinks also help increase the Alexa ranking. Increasing traffic and increasing ranking are two concepts that work to help increase profits.
So then, just what are these backlinks? A "backlink" is, very simply, any link back to your site from another site. For example, if you post a comment on someone's blog, and add a link to your URL, you've just created a backlink.
Google, Yahoo!, Bing and other search engines look at the number of backlinks a particular site has built to help determine how popular and relevant that site is. The more relevant Google thinks a site is, the better the "Page Rank". And a better Page Rank means the website will appear higher in the search engine results for its keywords. Now everybody is happy!
According to Google, "PageRank relies on the uniquely democratic nature of the web by using its vast link structure as an indicator of an individual page's value." In other words, the more relevant links that a website has, then the more valuable the website is in Google's eyes.
So, how does content distribution and article marketing build backlinks?
Content distribution not only builds backlinks faster, but it builds a higher number of backlinks more quickly. This is because every time you submit an article, it is distributed it to a list of publishers, site directory owners, bloggers, newsletter editors and others who have requested content in your particular cateogory. They receive your article, and publish it with that all-important About the Author information, including your URL and other links. Voila... backlinks.
Instead of gaining just one backlink at a time, each article you submit has the potential to build hundreds of backlinks from relevant sites. It's an organic, "spam-free" way to build those links, and get interested readers in front of your content.
