Hire A Virtual Assistant - Quick Tips To Remember

When you want to attract people to join your team, you need to write an effective job ad to hire a virtual assistant. You also want to make it personal. I create a picture, I say I'm a struggling entrepreneur who has so much work on his plate and I need a project manager who can come in and take all of the ideas that I've got and take them through to implementation and manage our team of virtual staff. For me, I put my heart into the ad because I want someone when they read it, they say, this isn't just another ad for an SEO company. When you go onto some of these job ads they feel very corporate, they feel impersonal.

If someone is going to be working in my office, I take a photo of the office and include it in the job ad down the bottom and say, here's where you'll be working. Sometimes I even do YouTube videos. You can do things like that that just make it personal, so when someone looks at the job ad you're really going to connect with the right people when you hire a virtual office assistant.

This is also where you want to use your copywriting skills as well. Copywriting is key, it's the fundamentals under all sort of marketing and everything that you do. Life is all about sales. John Carlton says that salesmen and women lead better lives. What it is that you do, no matter what you do in business, make sure that you take the time to learn copywriting as a skill.

Copywriting is all about the way that you craft the job ad, it's about the way that you do your marketing, it's the way that you write your emails, it's the way that you communicate with people, it's the way that you convince your girlfriend that you want to go see one movie when she wants to go see another movie. It's all sales, it's all copywriting. So it's a really important skill to have just like how we offer this as part of our SEO services.

When writing a job ad because you want to hire a virtual assistant, you want to have it clear and direct. I recently wrote on headed Web Video Recording, Editing Star Wanted. At the top I wrote my headline, that's the thing that will run on the website. One of the websites that I use to advertise is mainly JobStreet. Then I write a little summary: Wanted: Talented, creative, reliable, efficient and internet savvy. Very flexible, 15 hours work in Carlton North. Suit university student or freelancer. So that's my initial bait, my initial hook.

Then I move into telling the story, and this is a little bit of copywriting. I tried to think in terms of my avatar. Thinking about my avatar, if I'm a movie maker, what would I want? I'd want my videos to be seen by as many people as possible. As a goal as a movie maker, like a star movie player, that's what I'd be thinking. So I want to, in my job ad, make sure that I let them know their videos are going to be seen by a world wide audience.

So 'If you're a talented, digital media internet whiz, looking to gain real world experience producing, editing, content to be seen by world wide audience, then you will want to read this entire message.' Do you think that spoke really clearly to my prospective employee? It did, that hooked him in and he has commented in hindsight that he hadn't seen that done before. So this is all about getting in the mind of your avatar.

'Here's the situation. I'm a busy internet entrepreneur who's finding I have a bottle neck when it comes to getting my videos, slides, digital media recorded, edited and posted online. I'm looking for someone who has a passion for web video' and then it goes on. I talk about some of the qualities that I'm looking for. 'To be successful in this role you have to love getting the job done, enjoy using your creative talents.'

Every job ad that I do is different for every fish that I'm trying to catch. So I don't just do a cut and paste. Then I finish up with adding that personality to it, about me and my team. I say 'My primary areas of expertise are business and the stock market, how to information products. You can find out more about me on the blog.' Then I talk about my team being very easy and flexible to get along with. Then 'If you've got any questions, then it is ok to ask questions.' Here it is what we're offering and then what you should do next.

I finish off by saying, 'One final thing before you apply. If you're looking for a job just to put in some hours or you just want to make a little extra cash, then most likely you're not the person we're looking for. No lazy people. I want to hire a virtual assistant that has a passion to make things happen for our business. We're looking for people who are committed to being their best.'
